The Canadian Psychological Association publishes a series of
fact sheets entitled “Psychology Works” which describe different psychological
conditions affecting various populations.
Their brief online fact sheet “Depression Among Seniors”
gives an overview of symptoms, risks and outcomes, an explanation for why
depression is often overlooked in this population and possible psychological
interventions that can be considered for elderly patients/residents experiencing
depression.
