This study from the Joseph Roundtree Foundation examined paperwork in care homes. Researchers visited care homes and found that workers in care homes regularly complete more than 100 separate items of
paperwork, often duplicating the same information. This activity takes time away from providing resident care.
The researchers recommends that the long term care sector examine carefully policies and procedures related to paperwork akes changes to the way it deals with administration so older people
can be given more compassionate, personalised care.
