10 Steps for Communicating with Patients about Serious Illness [Video]

Dr. Diane Meier, Director of the Center to Advance Palliative Care stars in this 5 minute video on having difficult conversations with patients.  Meier offers 10 steps on what to say and do when engaging in conversations with patients about serious illness.  Meier suggests that communicating with patients requires, “training, practice and supervision,” and is as important as any other medical procedure.
