Both the American Geriatrics Society (AGS)
and The American Academy of Hospice and
Palliative Medicine (AAHPM) recently released their respective lists of Five Things
Physicians and Patients Should Question. The lists were created as
part of the Choosing Wisely Campaign,
an initiative of the ABIM
Foundation, that recognizes the importance of improving care and eliminating
unnecessary tests and procedures.
These lists provide specific,
evidence-based recommendations that can assist physicians and patients when
deciding on appropriate care based on individual needs. Both the AGS the AAHPM surveyed their members and consulted
external experts to create their respective lists.

lists were created and to see the full list of their recommendations, please
