This new paper by the Canadian Policy Research Network has found that not enough is being done to help the people who help us when we use the health care system.
Author RenĂ©e Torgerson says, “Nurses are still too often exposed to unsafe working conditions, are understaffed, feel unsupported and lacking in respect by supervisors, face unrealistic expectations for overtime, and are in physical pain.” Torgerson points out that there have been some improvements in job security and better working relationships with physicians, but much more remains to be done.
