Healthy Aging in Canada: A New Vision, A Vital Investment From Evidence to Action (2007)

This document, prepared for the Federal, Provincial and Territorial Committee of Officials (Seniors) with representatives from provinces and territories, addresses the necessity for developing a vision for health aging that: values and supports the contributions of older people; celebrates diversity, refutes ageism and reduces inequities; and provides age-friendly environments and opportunities for older Canadaians to make health choices, which will enhance their independence and quality of life. The report looks at social connectedness and aging; physical activity; nutrition; falls prevention and tobacco control.
