CDC's Long-Term Care Portal

While infection prevention in long-term care facilities remains a top priority for many institutions, navigating the different guidelines and protocols can be overwhelming for staff.  CDC is trying to solve this problem with the creation of the Long-Term Care Portal.   The portal organizes existing infection prevention information and resources for clinical staff and residents in the form of guidelines, presentations, handouts, and web links.  The tools cover many different types of infections, including C. difficile, influenza, MRSA, UTI’s and Norovirus.  The portal also acts as a link for administrators to track and report outbreaks and prevention process measures such as hand hygiene and glove adherence.
