SCIE (Social care
Institute for Excellence) has created a new section on their website about Working in
Partnership with Caregivers. This segment focuses on caregiving for
persons with dementia, but it could be applied to all caregivers.
According to SCIE, caregivers and families play a vital part of providing care
to older persons. This section shares ideas for both families and health
care professionals on ways to communicate and work alongside each other while
providing care.
Working in
Partnership with Carers has 5 modules: Becoming a carer; Supporting carers
at the time of diagnosis; Working alongside and supporting carers; Supporting
carers in hospitals and care homes; Supporting carers of people with advanced
dementia.
