Enhancing the
Management of Neuropathic Pain in the Long-Term Care Setting toolkit was
created by the Academy for Continued Healthcare
Learning (ACHL) and is hosted on the AHRQ Innovations Exchange.
It was derived to assist administrators and clinicians to better manage
persistent or neuropathic pain in older adults who reside in long-term care
settings.
The toolkit has outlined a three step process to
manage pain that includes: setting goals; educating and training staff on
best practices and administering a pain reassessment. All three steps are
described in detail in the toolkit, and provided alongside data collection
sheets and calculation measurements.
