The latest edition of the Simon Fraser Geriatric Research Centre News is devoted to falls and falls prevention research.
Falls are a major cause of injury amongst seniors, often having a devastating effect on their mobility and independence.
To address this, the CIHR-funded (Technology for Injury Prevention) TIPS program comprises an interdisciplinary group of researchers based at SFU and UBC to examine the causes of falls in long-term care and to develop innovative interventions to reduce the incidence and negative effects.
