Working with Older Prisoners

The Nacro and Department of Health Working with Older Prisoners pack was created to provide peer support workers, disability liaison officers, older offender and wing officers with good practice ideas and activities for older prisoners.

It is also intended as a directory of contact information for outside agencies to improve prison workers access to information, advice and guidance service for older prisoners.

The pack could also be used to raise awareness of health issues common to the older prisoner population.

Each pack consists of a Resource Pack; a Workshop Pack, designed to show how to run awareness sessions on issues facing older prisoners, and four identical resources and activities discs, containing leaflets from organizations involved in aging.
