The Virtual Health Care Team® was developed by the School of Health Professions at the University of Missouri-Columbia under the direction of Dean Richard E. Oliver.
The site contains a variety of cases of interest to health professionals. The topics include managing obesity, arthritis and exercise, and using a team approach to help older adults with complex medical problems. The cases have also been viewed by numerous people with particular medical problems.
All cases were written by faculty, or by students under faculty supervision. Cases are also reviewed periodically by the faculty.
Cases typically include questions for the user, external links to recognized authoritative sources, and references. Faculty from other institutions may use Virtual Health Care Team® cases in their classes without charge after obtaining permission.
