Issue Briefs on Health Promotion for Older Adults

Issue Briefs on Health Promotion for Older Adults
In the coming decades, the U.S. population will become older and more culturally diverse. Chronic diseases affect many older adults and cause limitations in activities of daily living. But aging does not have to be characterized as a time of decline and loss of function, and health promotion can positively affect the aging process. In this series of Issue Briefs, the American Society on Aging examines ways to promote health and wellness so that all elders have access to a variety of options, and can lead active, engaged lives in their communities.
