COPSA Education Videos on Dementia and Alzheimer's Disease in Long-Term Care

September 2013 marks the second annual World Alzheimer’s Month and in honour of the occasion, this week’s web pick is the COPSA Education Channel featuring 3 videos on Alzheimer’s and Dementia care in long-term care homes.  The COPSA Institute for Alzheimer’s Disease and Related Disorders is a university-based program that provides a daily care program for older adults with dementia and other related disorders.  The Centre has produced the following 3 video that are available to view online:
·         Bridges: A toolkit for adult day program professionals and family caregivers
A video to educate staff on building supportive partnerships with family caregivers

·         Bridges: A toolkit for family caregivers of people with dementia
A video to educate family caregivers on how to build supportive relationships with long-term care staff

·         Circle of Harmony: Managing Behavioral Disturbances in Adult Day Dementia Programs
A training video for healthcare staff and family caregivers on techniques to manage common behavioural disturbances
